Merge Existing and New Toolbar Settings Files

Is there any way to merge an older Toolbar Settings file (created with the Active X control's SaveSettings routine) with a newer toolbar settings file?

For example, we want to turn on certain customization features of the toolbars, but don't want to wipe out all the customizations our users make if we need to ship a new default settings file to say disable some new features you've introduced that we aren't ready to give our users yet. Is there a way to go about merging these two files?

Hi,

Unfortunately no, there is no such way in the current realization.

In the new version you will be able to fully customize all the toolbars programmatically.

Best
Regards.

Will that include a way to enumerate through the sub-items of the Comment Styles Palette?

I think this feature will be included also...

To me it seemed like importing settings for sessions, or toolbar layouts would overwrite the existing ones. Is that not the case? Can those be combined? How would the software know which to prioritise then, old or new.

Hi Medbooster,

I'm pretty sure they were talking SDK stuff and that this is not about to be in the End User software...
