Toggle all popups on and off [suggestion]

Post by MedBooster »

Could you maybe make a Toggle all popups on and off separate shortcut, so that I can link it to one keyboard shortcut?

Instead of having to use 2 different keyboard shortcuts for the two

the same would apply to other show/hide functions such as
hide/show all comments in the document...
In my opinion it would be great to have the option to just use one keyboard shortcut for both. I don't mind having to press it twice to get to the right setting

Hello, MedBooster

You will be happy to hear that the Dev team accepted this FR, I cannot promise a timeline, but it is now in the system:

RT#6475: FR: toggle all comments (and popups) on/off single buttons.

Still waiting for this!
It would be important to have them as separate functions / buttons

As I use hide/show all comments when I simply want to read a document in its original state without the distraction of custom comments and annotations,

buuut hide/toggle pop-ups I use for active recall... you see it's a great way to hide and show information when studying.

For reference, let me show you how it works in XMIND (mind mapping software), it is the same shortcut for opening and collapsing branches (which in PDF-xce's case would mean pop-ups)

Hello MedBooster,

I have just checked the ticket - it's still open indeed!

For the time being you will have to stick with the two separate shortcuts for those operations.
For Show/Hide All comments the defaults are Ctrl + 8 and Ctrl + Shift + 8.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Maybe you could add a separate function which would be "toggle". As some might prefer to have two different keyboard shortcuts 🤷‍♂️

Hello MedBooster,

I can confirm that the request in the ticket is for the toggle buttons/options to be added in addition to the existing ones. So you would still have the separate Show/Hide and Toggle will be a third option when implemented.

Kind regards,
Stefan
