Build 359 UI issue on clicking image
On Windows 7, left-click and hold here:
often but not always switches to this state:
and release often but not always retains that state, where clicking again often but not always switches back.

Hi, chrisjj
have you tested this in the current build? We couldn't patch 359 anyway, do you see the same in 9.5.368.0?
Kind regards,
Paul - Tracker Supp

No. Obviously. Else the report's build number would be that of the current build.

Re: Build 359 UI issue on clicking image
Hi, chrisjj
Sorry, by now I assumed you were aware that we cannot patch old versions. There is not much point in telling us about issues in an old version I am afraid since we cannot fix it even if we wanted to.
If there is an issue that needs addressing we need to know if it has already been resolved before we expend time and resources investigating something that may not even be an issue.
I couldn't see the behaviour when I tried, so I asked you to try. You are using an old version of the software on an old OS, and with the best will in the world, we cannot investigate your issue unless you are prepared to update to the current version of our software and determine if the issue has already been resolved.
We simply cannot address the issue if it is not present in the current build.
Kind regards,
Paul - Tracker Supp

I am. I wasn't suggesting you patch an old version.

You can fix it in the next version.

In the "current" build I presume. Thanks.

Hello, chrisjj
All Paul was suggesting is that if you encounter a bug in an older version, you should first update the software to see if it has been resolved, instead of reporting it as if the issue is still present in the current release (especially when you are running a build which is over a year old).
Kind regards,

Re: Build 359 UI issue on clicking image
Hi chrisjj,
I must admit, the problem you see when clicking an image is not 100% clear to me.
When you left-mouse-click an image in PDF-XChange Editor and the Properties-pane is active, it shows the images' properties.
As long as the image stays selected (blue rectangle around it), its properties keeps showing.
From the moment that the image is no longer selected (blue rectangle disappears), the Properties-pane is shown like in your second screenshot. Nothing ab-normal I would say?
Kind regards.

I'd would say too.Willy Van Nuffel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 7:55 pm When you left-mouse-click an image in PDF-XChange Editor and the Properties-pane is active, it shows the images' properties.

What's abnormal is the variable response to invariant input - as reported.

Re: Build 359 UI issue on clicking image
Hello, chrisjj
This may simply be a case of a bug in the version you are running, or a UI issue with the older OS. I cannot seem to reproduce the issue here in the latest version, so I am afraid that we will have to drop this topic for now.
Have a nice day!

Hello chrisjj,
No - we did not, and do not plan to test on Win 7 any more - as per the official Microsoft statement:
After over a decade of being the most chosen Windows version, Windows 7 has reached its end of life. While the OS's Extended Support ended on Jan. 14, 2020, the Extended Security Updates (ESUs) reached their end of life on Jan. 10, 2023
Kind regards,
Stefan

Some mistake there. Win 7 is still alive on the computers of many users. MS seems to have mistaken end of security updates for end of life.Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 1:18 pm After over a decade of being the most chosen Windows version, Windows 7 has reached its end of life.

Re: Build 359 UI issue on clicking image
Hello chrisjj,
This might be the case, however we are focusing on the current versions of Windows that are officially supported, and on the current latest version of our Editor.
What you experience there might be a combination of the older build of the Editor and the older Windows. We can not fix older builds, and Microsoft won't do any updates for Win 7 either.
The issue does not seem to be present on a current OS with the current Editor, so as per Dan's earlier post - we will have to drop this topic for now.
Kind regards,
Stefan
