To remove the open-protection:
- open the protected PDF (you must know the password)
- click the File-tab > Document Properties > Security
- at Security Method, select "No Security"
- click Yes to confirm the question "Are you sure that you want to remove security from this document"
- click OK
- save the PDF to definitively remove its password

To remove the printing- and editing-protection:
- almost similar to the above

Thanks for the instructions Willy.

This will surely help Wallner to remove the protection of the file.

However, for this to work, he needs to know the password :-)

this is the problem that the architects always send the plan write-protected, because you usually do not know password

If it allows printing you can print to PDF a new version. It will lose any interactive content because the Windows Printing subsystem strips anything that is not relevant to paper from print jobs, but you would have the "guts" of it I would expect.

Just thinking out loud. I wouldn't normally recommend printing PDF to PDF.
