How to Convert Scan of Old Book to B&W

Post by Aristotle74 »

I received a pdf copy of a 1918 book that was scanned using the original book where the pages were various shades of faded sepia and yellowed pages. Not surprising for a 100 year old book. Is there a way for PDF-XE to convert this to just black text on a white background? Thank you.

Hello, Aristotle74

If the text is not handwritten, you could run the Enhanced OCR on the file to generate editable text content, and then delete the background images from the file, resulting in a PDF document that has only the OCR output content left in place. The OCR tool is located on the Convert tab.
