registry key use by pdf xchange editor for preview preferences

Post by cabinet de psychiatrie »

Hi,

I use pdf xchange editor, except for windows preview, where I need MS previewer. I usually change registry like this :
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf\shellex\{8895b1c6-b41f-4c1c-a562-0d564250836f}]
@="{3A84F9C2-6164-485C-A7D9-4B27F8AC009E}"

I updated pdf editor yesterday but I need to :
  • go to preferences/file association/Preview -> No for my registry change to take effect.
Since I perform the reg control and change via autohotkey, I'd like to have the registry key used by 1.- in order to automate this when pdfxchange updates

best regards

Hello, cabinet de psychiatrie

It should be the exact same registry key there, you would just need to have the correct aplpication ID as the value, instead of the default windows value. Unfortuantely, I do not have that value on hand, but if using the "preferences" menu within the Editor does not work, that is okay, sometimes that option is unable to make the change, in that case, It is better to use our shell extensions utility, to make this change:
