[Suggestion] Retain custom settings on upgrade

Post by dasy2k1 »

Is there any way to retain a users custom stamp collections, custom comment styles and so on when they upgrade the product say from 9.3 to 9.4.
at the moment i am constantly trying to help users who have lost all their customization during the software upgrade that was pushed by central IT with no warning

Hello dasy2k1,

It is likely the way the IT team is pushing the updates that is wiping all the user's settings - as those are normally preserved with a 'normal' update.

Users can back up their settings:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... nge-Editor
and their stamp collections:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... ers-to-use
Store them in a folder that does not get replaced at update time, and then use those to restore when IT pushes an update with wiped out settings.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello dasy2k1,

Did you do the update with a package directly downloaded from our website, or was that update package prepared by your IT team as well?

Kind regards,
Stefan
