Converting to JPEG 2000 to workaround 359 image corruption bug

Post by chrisjj »

(Different thread to "Setting JPEG 2000 to workaround 359 image corruption bug").

I have many PDFs saved by 359 using Compression JPG, and thereby displaying as junk in Acrobat X. What command in PDFXCE (or PDF Tools) is best to convert them to JPEG 2000? I see some possibilities e.g. Save As Optimised:
image.png
but that tricksy setting looks precarious. And I need something 100% reliable and persistent - soo foolproof.

FWIW, Save File As Options is mysteriously disabled:

Thanks.

Hello, chrisjj

Save as optimized is certainly one option, another would be the "recompress images" tool on the Convert tab:
image.png
Simply select each category, and edit them (one at a time) and specify what the compression method you would like used for those images is.

As for your "mysteriously disabled" options button, that is because unless you choose a special format, like PDF/A for saving, there are no options to be used.

Hello,

As an aside, I should also note that we have released a new build. Have you tried updating to build 364.0 and confirming if your issue is still present there?

Kind regards,
