Build 359 - Save Documents Filename bug?

Post by chrisjj »

I'm using this:

image.png (16.45 KiB) Viewed 469 times
and dropping a folder into Choose Input Files. I expect the output placement to be alongside the folder, but it is inside - as if "..\" was failing.

Bug?

Hello, chrisjj

Not a bug, just a feature which does not actually exist. When you select "use source folder as destination" the contents will appear inside that folder, the filename macro functionality does not allow for this style of "drill up" commands to be incorporated.

Unfortunately at the moment, there is no way to automate what you have written here. You may want to create an "output" folder inside of the source folder, and simply add "output\" to the front of your filename so that files will be placed inside of it, instead of trying to go backwards out of the folder.

Thanks. Suggestion: fix this silent acceptance of invalid input.

The example does not use it in filename macro functionality, note.

Thanks.

Thanks but I definitely do not want the output file in the input folder. Not least because of what would happen when, on the next run, I again include the whole input folder.

Hello, chrisjj

Understood. In this case, perhaps you should simply set a specific output folder instead.

In this case, that would fail to keep output files in their respective projects.

Thanks anyway for the thought.

Update: Further testing now find this is working as expected, every time.

e.g.
image.png
image.png (16.34 KiB) Viewed 441 times
dropping D:\!t\done into Choose Input Files gives:
image(1).png
image(1).png (10.66 KiB) Viewed 441 times
Quite why the earlier failure, I do not know.

so, FTR, " a feature which does not actually exist" is incorrect.
