Information about the format in which a particular image is stored in a PDF document

Post by Jensen Head »

The "Page Content Properties" panel for images currently displays the following information:
* Style
Opacity: 100%
Blend Mode: Normal
* Image Details
Width: 100
Height: 213
Type: Image
BPC: 8
Color Space: ICCBased
Mask Type: None
Object Number: 86
Since the "Optimize PDF" / "Images" settings contain settings for choosing a compression format ("JPEG2000", "JPEG", "ZIP", "MRC", "JPEG2000/ZIP", and "JPEG/ZIP"), I assume that this information is present for each image embedded in the PDF. I propose to display it in the "Page Content Properties" panel.

Hello, Jensen Head

I have created a formal ticket for this request:
RT#6099: FR: show compression method in image properties pane.

Kind regards,

The current compression method for an image can (already) be seen in PDF-XChange Editor after a right-mouse-click on the selected image and then "Recompress Image ..." (see example here below). After verification, click "Cancel" to avoid recompression.

Best regards.

Willy
