We are forced to convert PDF/X documents due to the limitations of one of the tool used in pre-preparation of documents. Saving a document from regular PDF to PDF/X [1] increases the size by an average of 133%, i.e. more than twice. This was a test of 200 recognized scanned documents ranging in size from one to 50 pages. However, when converting back, the size of the files almost does not change.
Forced conversion of all objects to the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 color space had almost no effect on the document size.
What would you recommend is a way to return documents to their original size, which was before converting to PDF/X?
Upd. I tried using the "Discard Special PDF-Standard" [2] tool, selecting "Choose PDF standard to discard: All standards", but the PDF/X file size was the same again.
[1]:
Code: Select all
GTS_PDFXVersion = PDF/X-4
- Tag 'x:xmpmeta/rdf:RDF/rdf:Description/pdfx:GTS_PDFXVersion'
[2] "Discards special PDF-standard information, such as PDF/X, PDF/A, PDF/E, etc."
