Scanning large document hangs

I am trying to scan a document with 24 pages.
Using PDF-Xchange Editor Plus, v9.3 build 361.0. Windows 11.
Scanner is HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476dn via TWAIN interface.
The program scans all the pages, and then hangs when saving. (No problem to scan small documents.)
I have to close the program from the Task Manager.
Any help gratefully accepted.

Hi Tim,

it sounds like we will need to investigate using the TWAIN drivers here. Do you have any luck selecting the WIA interface for this Scanner?

Both the 32 bit TWAIN and 64 bit WIA interfaces should be listed here:

I don't have any scanner on my machine, but you should see both options. Do you? Does WIA work?
