Hello,
I often used PDF-Tools and PDF Xchange Editor to produce optimized pdf files.
PDF-Tools for several files at the same time. PDF-Xchange Editor for a single file.
With the same settings used for optimization (see attached file), optimized files are produced with PDF-Xchange Editor, but with PDF-Tools, optimization is not performed (the size of the optimized file is the same as the source file).
Any idea to solve the issue.
Best regards
Gerard
Optimization with PDF-Tools (V9.3 361) seems not to work

Re: Optimization with PDF-Tools (V9.3 361) seems not to work
Hello Woinic,
Have you checked the other options are the same in Tools and the Editor (e.g. the "Discard Objects" options)?
Can we have a sample file (here or on e-mail if sensitive) - that you get better results optimizing with the Editor than with Tools?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Woinic,
try temporary workaround for this issue:
Enable 'Change Document properties' action after 'Optimize document'.
For example you can use following settings.

Hello Stefan and Denis,
I reviewed all parameters. They are strictly the same for Editor and PDF-Tools.
I tried also the temporary workaround for the issue proposed by Denis.
After enabling "Change document properties", all works fine. A little bit weird for me !!
Many thanks
Kind Regards
Gerard

Re: Optimization with PDF-Tools (V9.3 361) seems not to work
Hello Gerard,
Denis is one of our devs but is not a man of many words.
So when he says "please try this workaround" this means that he has discovered an issue that will be corrected, and is suggesting the above until we've had the chance to address that and release the new build with the fix.
Glad to hear that the workaround is working for you and we will see to get this corrected in Tools with a future version.
Kind regards,
Stefan
