Center the values in a dropdown form

Post by abaum »

I want to center the values in a dropdown form. By default, the values are always left-justified. How do I have to do this. Or is this simply not supported.

Many thanks for the help!

Best regards

Hello, abaum,

Welcome to our Forum.

Could you please tell me what version is your PDF Editor?

You can see this information in the PDF Editor's Help -> About menu.

Also, is it possible to send us one of the files you have this problem with?

Regards.

Hello,

thank you for the nice welcome.

In the attached PDF file there is a dropdown form with Item1 to Item 6. The content of the dropdown form, i.e. Item 1, etc., should be displayed in the centre. In a text field, setting the centered display is not a problem. It doesn't work in the dropdown.

As a workaround, I created a dropdown that is not printed and transfers its content to a text field via JavaScript.

Hello abaum,

Thanks for this! I am afraid that you can't set the text alignment for combo-boxes - so text will always be left aligned.
If your drop down is 'fixed' and won't change over time - you can add some spaces at the start of the item's name so that it appears centered:
