PDF Tools with \\xxxxxx network path

Post by CLEM »

Hi every one,

We would like to know if there is an issue with french PDF-Tools 8.0 build331 for commands over network path ?

We designed a tools that works well on a local machine and that works fine with cmd command through an excel file with the correct GUID.

When trying the PDFXToos.exe /ExportSettings there is no action and no created file.

When manually exporting our tools and settings, then deleting them in the PDFTools application, Then importing through command line , there is no action.

when trying the command line PDFXToos.exe /ImportSettings:showui=full <filename> there is only the interface on the screen and no import.

May be something wrong in our path ? \\dg-projetxxxxx\xxxxxx\xxxx-xxxx\xxxxxxx\xxx xxx-xx\xxxxx (<255 characters)

By advance,

Hello CLEM,

I am not 100% sure if there were any such issues with that specific build of PDF Tools, but could you please try the current latest one (V9.2.359):
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-tools
And let us know if that works better for you?

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I would be able to try the next version 9 after update.

We also try to change the path to local path and we observe the following

1: using the APPDATA path (..\Roaming\Tracker Software\PDF Tools\6.0\xxxx.pdts --> no import

2: using c:\pdftools\xxx.pdts --> import and correct execution of the macro

So it's seems to be affected by the path

Hi Stephan,

We found the solution on the path as there were spaces beetwen characters.

We try the ^ --> no effect
we try with double more quote to pass in the shell "" "\\XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\xXXX\ " "" -- > correct execution of the macro.

Thank you for your help.

PS : We would try of course the 9 version.
