I have a document in Publisher with a 2 pages of size of 630mmx297 as it is a tri-fold brochure that once folded has a A4 size (210x297),
I'm adding 3mm bleed all around so the actual size is 636x303
I go to print with pdfXchange as printer and set the custom sizes of paper and layout in properties (see attached).
However, when I print it creates a pdf with 6 A4 pages instead of 2 pages as instructed.
I noticed that when I go back to the settings, the paper size keeps defaulting to standard Letter/AnsiA, at the top of the dialog so the Custom radio button selection is lost every time.
Is this a bug or do I have to do something else ?
It's driving me nuts ....
Thanks
I'm using PdFX version 2.5 Build 192 and Publisher 2007.

Re: Cannot output to custom size
Hello palosanto,
Build 192 is rather old. Please download and install build 4.0.211:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/downloads
And the problem should disappear.
Also - while I am not a Publisher expert - you say that the result is 6 x A4 pages instead of the expected 2 x custom sized sheets - could it be some setting in publisher that is "splitting" the output?
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Cannot output to custom size
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your input. I've upgraded the release but the problem persists. For what I google it is an old unresolved bug and to be honest I don't know what the heck to do as I'm totally stuck trying to send this thing to the printers ....
If you or anybody hears of a solution please let me know
Thanks

Hi palosanto,
Thanks for the post - could you download and test with the trial of Version 5? It's likely that the issue is not present there:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/PDFX5SA.zip
Cheers, hope that helps!

Re: Cannot output to custom size
Hi again,
I'll give it a try but I responded just a few minutes ago because Publisher has a direct method to "Publish to Pdf" built in that I was not aware and it works properly. In other words it prints what it finds no matter the size and it doesn't need a virtual printer like pdfXchange for example.

Hi palosanto,
To the best of my knowledge, we should be doing this too. Have you tried using the add-in to handle the conversion? Generally speaking, this gives a far better conversion of Office formats, to PDF.
Cheers,
Will

Sorry, what add-in are you referring to? The office2Pdf tool only handles word, excel and IExplorer for what I can see, not Publisher ...

Re: Cannot output to custom size
Hi palosanto,
There should be toolbar in Publisher that says "PDF-XChange 4.0" or "PDF-XChange 2012" - if there's not, you may have to enable it by going to File --> Add-ins and enabling it from either "COM Add-ins" or "Disabled Add-ins".
Cheers,
Will
