I have a stamp which displays a static "grid" (like Excel-Sheet with 3x4 cells).
Now I want to
- place the stamp into my PDF
- write some small text into 2 defined "cells" (area) of the grid
Can it be done with current software?
(Is this a "dynamic feature" which is not available?)
Peter

Re: Create a stamp with changeable text?
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the post - this would require that the stamp was dynamic and, currently, we cannot create dynamic stamps. For now, you would need to flatten the stamp and use the typewriter or textbox tool, to write on top of the flattened stamp.
Cheers,

Re: Create a stamp with changeable text?
Hi,
just a thought:
can't you create a document that is containing all these kind of stamps you need and you copy paste these from the template to the document where you want to use it?
horst

Re: Create a stamp with changeable text?
Hello horst,
Thanks for the suggestion. It might work in some scenarios, but if the information Peter is looking at entering is e.g. customer names - it will be different every time, so that is why he needs to enter it dynamically at the time of placing the stamp.
However as William said - this is not yet possible in the Editor, but might be in the future.
If Peter 2 can create such a stamp elsewhere - then it can be imported to the Editor and will work (I have seen stamps that show a pop-up window asking you to enter the needed information, and those have worked OK in the Editor).
Regards,
Stefan

Re: Create a stamp with changeable text?
A workaround to get the same "looks a like" solution would be a macro (a script) which does these steps:
- insert stamp "grid.pdf" at coordinate x,y (of stamp)
- ask the user for a string: "Please enter name: "
- write the string as typewriter with defined properties to coordinates x,y (of ext 1)
- ask the user for a string: "Please enter something else: "
- write the string as typewriter with defined properties to coordinates x,y (of text 2)
The result should "look like a grid with text" - not sophisticated, but enough for temporary printing.
In AutoCAD it would be no problem for me, but in Editor plus Javascript ...

Hi Peter,
Unfortunately there isn't anything else that we can offer, at this time.
Thanks,
