Error opening Editor

Can not even open the application on its own. Let alone a pdf file. This is on Windows XP.

Let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks for the post - could you please advise on what specifically happens when attempting to run the Editor? Are any error messages generated?

Also, please provide your OS (Win XP SP2) and Architecture (32-bit[x86] or 64-bit[x64).

It is XP Pro SP3 32bit

All I do is go to the start menu to run the app and it crashes immediately Saying "PDF-XChange Editor has encountered a problem ..." and looking at the error reprot all I get is:

"Error signature

OK - so we are not able to reproduce this here try as we might. We checked out that address you reported but it points to nothing helpful.

Can I ask you to send us a screen shot of the error message? Also usually such messages have an option to show more detail. If so please send us the details also.

Ok here is a text file of the full error info and screen shots of the messages.

Edit: The txt does not contain what I thought it would hold on..

EDIT2: Well the error text part that is the memory dump stuff is way too large to screen shot and it won't let me copy the text.
this computer is probably just really messed up, and stuff is broken is probably the cause.

I have a suspicion that your computer might have a virus - the checksum of your file is different than the checksum of original file.

Can you try to ZIP this file and send us?

It tells me the file is in use and when you close the window Windows deletes the dump.

To me its looking like hard drive corruption if you are saying the crc isnt the same.

EDIT: I tried getting the zip installer but it gives a similar error to the main app when it was installed. WinRAR unpacks the zip fine though.
I think I am going to just give up and format the computer. Some other things are acting strange but all the AVs say there is nothing, but windows was running chkdisk.
