I do not have a full list of all the settings yet, but please check the contents of
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\CommentsView
on the two machines and see if there are any differences in the registry settings there.

OK - I looked at the registry locations that you listed above and found the entries for all the way up to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings" but no "CommentsView" entry. Can you please continue looking into this manual setting correction?

One key difference between my two machines is that the computer that currently displays the tooltip on build 306 had previous builds installed on it. The other computer that is NOT displaying the tooltip did not have previous builds installed on it.

So can you see other differences in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0\Settings\ on the two machines - even if they are in different categories? I suspect some of the settings on the machine that doesn't display tooltips are going to result in additional registry entries in the registry on that machine.

I tried installing a previous 304 build on the machine that does not display tooltips. And, then reinstalling build 306. It did not make a difference. I'm still not getting tooltips on the machine with any of the builds.

I even tried exporting the registry values from "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor" from the machine (M1) that displays tooltips, delete the registry entries from the machine (M2) that does not display tooltips, and importing the exported registry values. Still no tooltips on M2.

are the 2 machines the same version of Windows? Let me know what version of Windows it is on the one that doesn't show tool tips and I'll setup a clean install and test here.
