Version 3.0 and PDF/A files

Hello,

I apologize if there's a section to comment on version 3.0 of PDF-XChange Editor. Also, I was waiting for a new release, but I've decided not to wait any longer, in case nobody else has detected the bug.

Version 3.0 doesn't show PDF/A files properly. Please find enclosed a caption and the first page of a particular document.

Also, drag and drop doesn't work on my computer.

Thank you so much for your time and effort. I can't wait for the final version. Hopefully, the Comments tools (notes, underline, etc.) will be at least as flexible as they are now in version 2.5. Unfortunately, I can't use PDF-Xchange as much as I'd like to, as it doesn't fully support PDF/A files, so I was looking forward to version 3.

And thanks for the comments and the sample file.
Yes the current release candidate of the PDF-X Editor can't quite handle your file. I will pass it to the devs for investigation and fixing.

Drag and drop is not yet activated, as well as the commenting tools, but you can be sure that all annotating tools already available in the Viewer will be back in the final version of the Editor as well.

Thanks for the post, and the offer, but we're not offering a second beta/candidate release to any Users - the next release will be the 'Gold' release.

Actually Will is not quite correct - we expect a 2nd beta nearer the complete version in terms of features etc around the 3rd week of Feb with the Gold release Mid march if all goes to plan without any major issues.

Thanks: that's excellent news! As I said, I'd love to test the annotation and bookmarking tools, and I can't wait for the full PDF/A support, which has prevented me from using PDF-Xchange systematically so far. Keep up the good work!

What happened to the second beta to be released on the third week of February? I've been checking out quite often, but I've never seen it. Again, I'd love to test version 3, especially the annotation and marking tools. I've been unable to do it so far, as I can't open my PDF/A files. Hopefully this bug has been fixed by now. I can't wait for the final version of the software.

It seems that there will be no second beta, because this would only be another delay for the final release: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... 35&t=16774
So I think they rather want to release the final product early.

Thank you very much for informing me! I've just downloaded it. It says on the release note that we can't make comments on it, so I'll wait until the golden version, hoping certain missing things are fixed. At least I can see now that my PDF/a files are properly read. Thanks again!
