Hello:
Do you have any thoughts on adding any of the following capabilities to the PDF-XChange driver or PDF Tools?

1. Ability to capture 3D data and rotate the views within the pdf file.
2. Ability to capture then view layer information within the pdf file.
3. Ability to mark-up or highlight (red line) pdf files to send to others.

These features are available in "other" pdf softwares. Just wondering about your plans for including these capabilities in PDF-XChange.

Thank you,
Jim treece

Hi Jim,

Please see below :

1. Ability to capture 3D data and rotate the views within the pdf file.
We were the first NON Adobe product to offer support for U3D data in both our developer clients products (using our SDK's) and for end users via our collaboritive partners 'Actify' with their 'Spinfire for Office' products.

Further we are looking for larger commercial test sites in joint research program with Intel and Actify. A mailer is due out in the near future outlining this, in the meantime you can read more here :

http://www.actify.com/v2/products/SFPro ... office.htm

Also please see attached sample U3D PDF created with Spinfire and PDF-XChange.
2. Ability to capture then view layer information within the pdf file.
This is coming in the new year - further info available in due course.
3. Ability to mark-up or highlight (red line) pdf files to send to others.
Technically this is already available, we spent some months enabling this - however Adobe have somewhat 'Nobbled' this feature as an Adobe secure certificate is required to be built in to the tool proving this feature (ie. PDF-XChange) if access it to be provided via Adobe's free reader - needless to say the cost of such incorporation is somewhat prohibitive.

Therefore when we release our own (free) Reader in the new year we will provide access for users of our PDF creation Tools and all others to enable this without the prohibitive purchase cost of such a Certificate - although we will of course support certificated users too.

Users of the PDF-XChange PDF Reader will also have access to other premium functionality at no cost along with some extended functionality similar to that available in Adobe Acrobat PRO for a license fee.

For now I am afraid that is all the info on the latter 2 items I can impart.

Hope that helps
