pdf pro 5.0.258 500 / office 2007 sp3 convert fails

Post by Sues_M »

Hi,

we are facing some problems installling the new version on our 2008 r2 Servers. (TS Server, XenApp 6.5)

After the using the msi for installing the tool printing to pdf using the printer etc works fine but if i want to use the pdf-XChange 2012 Convert to pdf button we get a error:

for which driver is he searching ?

testing the exe everthing works fine... ? but we need the msi for the deployment..

Thanks

Hello Sues_M,

Have you tried to reinstall as the error message suggest and could you please let us know the exact installation file you are using (e.g. whether it's the .zip/.exe installer or the .msi packages)?

Best,
Stefan

Hi,

we are using the PDFXC5Pro_x64.msi {4EAC423E-9637-4EE9-8CD1-C52D2115449E} ..

We reinstalled several times .. no luck.. the com Plugin Version for Office is: 5.0.258 500

and the Version 5.0258.0 from Software ..

the exe is called pdfx5.exe version 5.0.258.0 24.04.2012

Printing with the pdf exchange printer works fine..

A Workaround would be to use the exe with parameters? Is this possible ?

thanks

Hi Stefan,

one more hint.. we tried to install it via the msi with parameters (unattend) and by just click the msi walk through the gui.. same error regarding the Office Addin.

Using the exe works fine.. but we need the msi to deploy it remotley.. we bought 500 pro licences..

Thanks Marco

Hi Sues,

I just got a confirmation that we've reproduced the problem at our end and a fix will be available in the next build (expected within a week).

Stefan

First of all, sorry for my english.
I have exactly the same issue: same version PDFX5(x64), office97 SP3, msi installer.

I mention my OS is MS Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

I reinstalled several times. After that, i tried the MSoffice diagnostics tool and this erase the COM configuration of the MSoffice executables.

Snif, the V4 works fine, but not this. :(

Sorry for my english again.

Hi mocky,

we have just uploaded a new build of the drivers and this was addressed. (Not the Viewer) Can you try installing from Version: 5.0.259 (Updated on 7 May, 2012) and let us know if this is resolved for you please.
Best regards
