Is there any explanation available for the options for JBIG2 compression (Standard, Crop Borders and Symbols)? The help-file doesn't contain any (unless I am looking at the wrong place in it).
Kind regards,
Ed

Re: JBIG2 compression
Hi Ed,
You are right there is no explanation in the help files about those settings as they are originating from the way JBIG2 works, so allow me to try and explain them here:
Standard - image is compressed using only the generic JBIG region
Crop Borders - we are locating any white borders on an image and excluding them from the compression
and Symbols is our implementation of a method similar to the ones described in the "Text image data" section of this wiki article.
Regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the prompt response. How does this compare with lossy and lossless compression, which are options in Acrobat (Pro 8)?

Hi Ed,
All of the above are using lossless algorithms.
