unstable XCShMain.x64.dll

Post by thenelson »

XCShMain.x64.dll causes xplorer2 to crash and other problems. I updated XCShMain.x64.dll to the version in the topic: viewtopic.php?p=159447&hilit=XCShMain.x64.dll#p159447 but that version was worse.

Here is the information from the Reliability Monitor: (note the Fault Module Name: XCShMain.x64.dll )

Hello, thenelson

You mentioned you updated the DLL to the version in that other topic. That is an old DLL and is likely to cause more issues than the current one. As we stated in that topic the DLL presented there was for testing, and the changes within it have since been included in the main application, so what you did there was effectively roll back to an unstable version of the DLL.

Now I should note that we only intend for our Shell extensions to be compatible with the regular windows Explorer, third party alternatives may work, but are not officially supported. So I will need to ask if you can reproduce this issue in the regular windows Explorer? If not, I am afraid there will be little we can do.

Kind regards,
