Is there a way to find out wether the cropped content is removed?

When you go to "Crop Pages...", via the Organize-ribbon > Crop, you should see the preview of the actual page (and what is still left of it).
In the "Crop Pages"-dialog-box you have options to really remove the content, comments and form fields that are outside of the crop box area, or not.

You can also click just outside the visible paper of the page using the Edit Content tool. If the cropped content is not yet removed, then that content will appear selected (in its original size, exceeding the page size).

I believe he is talking about this:
If you choose "All Content" then it shouldn't even matter what that content is, it should select it as Willy said.
