Inserting a picture

Post by Tamutka »

Hi there,
What I am doing wrong? When inserting a picture, no matter if as stamp or a content item, the picture does not act as in Word for instance. I can only select the whole page or less, but every time there is a gap on the bottom. I would like to resize the picture so it can fit the page. How? Thank you, Nataša

Hello Tamutka,

Perhaps the size of the picture is too big and does not match the size of the page!

You may "draw" the size of the picture during placement:

To resize it after the Image is placed, you have to use the Select Comments tool if the picture is inserted as a Stamp, and the Edit tool if it is inserted as a base content item.

Sorry, but is not OK. I still cannot find out how to deal with a picture after I insert it. I tried in another program I used before (FoxitReader), there I can enlarge and move the picture, but in PDF x sometimes I can do it and sometimes not. Is there some more exact instructions?
Thank you

To be able to resize or to move a picture, you must first select it, in either of the two following ways (depending on the fact if it is part of the base-content or a stamp), like explained by Dimitar:
- in the Home-ribbon, click Edit > Images, click onto the image to select it
- in the Home-ribbon, click Select Comments, click onto the image to select it

Once that the image is selected you can:
- rotate it by using the tiny green circle
- resize it by means of the small yellow squares that surround it
- move it by placing the mouse-pointer in the middle of the picture (mouse-pointer will change), and then drag-and-drop it

Does that help ?

Note: in case you like to only copy and use a part of an existing image, then you can use the Snapshot-tool (in the Home-ribbon) to make that copy. After that, right-mouse-click and "Paste as Image".

Is a bad copy, and hope it can be seen what is wrong.
Best regards, Natasa
And: is there a way to add a video here?

Hi Tamutka,

thanks for the video, that was very helpful.

From what I am seeing you use the "Add Image" tool to successfully define the size and location of the image, but then you are trying to modify that image while still having the Add Image tool active. Can you try switching to the "Edit Images" tool and see if things behave more to your expectation?

Sorry, want to cry!
Yesterday I reviewed my book by using "two pages" and on each click to "next page", both pages simultaneously jumped on and the next pair of pages appeared. But today, when trying to do the same with a new book, when clicking "next page", only one page jumps for each click. And I do not know what I did for such modification.
Please, help!
