Filter comments by author

I'd like to come back to this issue: viewtopic.php?t=34270
The users in our company face me with this question regularly. We use pdf documents in manuscript workflows for publications. So there is a lot of interaction between authors and lectors. So it is very difficult for us, that answers to comments are not included in "filter by author". We understand your arguments, but we don't see the danger of confusion.
"Filter by author" in Adobe Reader is possible, even if the author just answered to other comments.

Adobe Reader always shows the whole context of the dialogue after filtering, not just the answer. So it is not confusing at all.

Perhaps you can think about it again. Some of our users are quite annoyed with that issue.

Terribly sorry for the delay on this, After getting some time to speak with the dev team in more depth, they have agreed to begin working on this. You are correct, so long as the whole chain is shown there would not be any confusion to be had. The potential for confusion was with the concept that only the replies that author had written would be visible, not the original comment it was in relation to.
