Hi, I'm having trouble with the highlight tool. Using this tool I get a cross hair with a small T beside it, clicking and dragging draws a box around the text but no highlight occurs. Checking the properties thing appear to be correct. Some guidance is greatly appreciated.

If a box is being dragged, but no highlight appears, that indicates that there is no actual text content in the document to be highlighted (the highlighter tool is a text annotation tool, and requires text to be present for placement). If you wish to place highlights in such a document you have two options.
1. You can run OCR on the file to generate text content, which the highlight tool will then be able to work off of.
2. You can follow the steps here to begin "freehand highlighting" with another tool.
