Convert to PDF in Excel - Many pages instead of one

Post by RedSharpEye »

Hi,

Hopefully I am in the right forum......since updating to 9.5 366.0 I have found when using the PDF Xchange toolbar in Excel that the document is split into multiple pages.

For example a 1 page document is split into 45 pages.

If I print to the pdf-xchange Standard printer to document prints normally on one page.

There must be a seeting I need to tick to put this right.

Just use the printer I hear you say....I would but the graphics come out better when using the toolbar. My understanding is that Excel prints to a lower resolution for graphics.

welcome any advice

Kind regards

While not exactly on point, here is another easy way to convert Excel to PDF:

Hi,

Until we find out why this is happening please use the printer as a workaround.

To achieve better results please increase the resolution:

You may as well turn off the image compression.

Thanks for the tip David :)

I tried it out. Unfortuntely it didn't pick up the cell colouring and conditional formatting, nor the headers and footers, nor the scaling. I'm afraid it's a no for my problem :(

It is odd, the pdf toolbar never use to have any issues with pagnation. :?

Kind regards

I manage to reproduce the problem with the add-on so there is definitely some kind of a problem there.

Please use the printer for now.

Hello Red,

I'm afraid this problem is still not solved.

It is still under investigation by our developers.

I'll let you know when they fix it.

Regards.

Hello, I would also like to understand this issue. First, I apologize for mentioning other PDF products. :(

Adobe printer has a page layout modification feature, allowing the conversion of the content of a single Excel worksheet into one page when converting to PDF.
https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/hub/how-to-print-excel-on-one-page.html

However, I believe this functionality may be linked to Excel's own PDF printing options, consolidating the worksheet onto a single page, as explained on the official Microsoft website.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/fit-to-one-page-f3015be3-e007-4762-90a7-19ebc8052511

In my current testing, it seems that when converting with PDF-XChange, it doesn't reference the settings in the add-in but instead relies on the configurations of the PDF-XChange printer and Excel page settings. This makes it more complex for users. Are there any plans to update this functionality or address this in the future?
