Set default settings for making new pdf from txt files

Post by asocialis »

When I make new PDF I go to File - New Document - From text files, and there I always set UTF8 as encoding, and Each newline character starts a new paragraph. I do it for each of my txt file. I know that I can probably do it for more than one file at once, but I usually do one by one. Can these settings be changed by default so I don't have to choose them each time I drag and drop txt file to that import window?

Hi asocialis,

indeed we should "remember" this and populate that with the last used encoding type.

We will change the behaviour so that it does in future. I have raised a formal Feature Request around this and while for internal use only, should you refer to RT#6318: Feature request :: Editor :: Remember settings used for encoding of new document from Text files. here then any support staff member will be able to get you a status update.

I do not yet have an ETA for delivery of this feature.

I hope that h elps.
Best regards
