Cannot Edit Text in Text Box Since Update

My software updated yesterday and now when I double click a text box I am unable to edit the text it contains.

Are you talking about text boxes belonging to the text layer or belonging to the comments layer ?

To be able to edit the text boxes in the text layer, you must first click the "Edit Content" button in the "Content Editing Toolbar".

N.B.: In PDF-XChange v5.5.316.0, myself, I can not reproduce the problem.

For the typewriter, textbox, and callout comments: after I create them, I cannot double click the box to edit text. I just came across this issue today and recall the program updating yesterday. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the same problem.

Whether I use edit comment or edit content makes no difference either.

Nevermind.. My hand/selection tool was set in exclusive mode. Sorry for the confusion

Stefan, this is strange, but it seems that the problem is floating. I downloaded the file provided to you earlier, and the text is correctly edited. The item "Edit Text Elements as Blocks" was included earlier and now. However, in another document I met a similar situation:

I suspect that some of that content is vector objects rather than actual text.

I'm sorry I didn't backup the document at this stage of working with it and continued editing in AA. It, AA, is not as smart and feature rich, but it is more predictable when editing a document with complex formatting and many overlapping blocks of various types. I am very sad to report this. You can see that I root for your product with all my heart, I want it to get better. And when it comes to batch processing, it has no equal. But editing documents is not yet his forte, unfortunately.

I also want to add to this, in your screenshot, you specifically have the "edit > shapes" mode active,

In your initial report you said you were using the "Edit > text" tool specifically, so I wanted to verify that you were indeed using the aforementioned tool mode.
