PDF-File cannot show its full size.

Hello support-team,

a colleague of mine want to open a pdf-file with a size of 21,5 MB in the PDF-XChange Editor.
The problem is, the file cannot show it's full size and get cut from one side.
What can I do against this problem?
How can I make it possible to see the full file in its full size?

Is the file larger than 200 inches (5080 mm) in either direction?

the measurements are:
W: 5080,0 mm
H: 4000,0 mm

How does it effect the PDF file?
Do you have any idea how can I make it full screen?

Thanks for confirming. Yes - those 5080mm are a special size when it comes to PDF documents.
I suspect your file is simiar to the one discussed here:

And the explanation I've given in that other topic likely applies to your document as well.

ok, interessting. This is a pity..
With another PDF-reader, in this case the Foxit PDF Reader, it's possible to open the full size of the PDF-file.

Yes - the information is there, but technically the PDF specification tells us that we should NOT be showing that information, as the file is not properly formatted. The Viewer was showing such documents as well, but with the Editor we decided to follow the specification stricter.

but the older PDF-XChange-Viewer version 2.5.322.9 could open the whole file, without any problems. How is that possible?
I really don't understand it. Do you have any idea?

Hello MK2022,

In the past the Viewer was indeed not respecting those limits that are there in the PDF spec, and was showing Media boxes larger than it should have been. We've now corrected this and the Editor conforms stricter to the spec.

If we stick to the specification like this - eventually the tools that create those files will have to also update themselves and start creating correct files (with a Media Box within limits and /UserUnit specified where necessary).
