When pasting image content via clipboard, I have noticed that the behavior differs depending on the size of the image.
In the first half of the verification procedure, two image files used for pasting are created at 300 dpi and 400 dpi as preparation. In the second half, after adding the image as content, we attempt to cut and paste it onto another page.
For the first half, we export to images in PNG format, black and white, no dither, 300dpi or 400dpi. Details are omitted, but a capture video is attached along with the generated files.
A capture video is also attached for the second half of the verification.
The corresponding time code is also listed at the beginning of each verification procedure.
([MM:SS] "MM" stands for minutes and "SS" for seconds).
- [00:02]-[00:11] Create a new document with size:A2, orientation:landscape, count:2.
- [00:14]-[00:21] Add a 300 dpi PNG file as image content.
- [00:22]-[00:28] Cutting to clipboard with Edit mode enabled, the image disappears.
- [00:29]-[00:38] Go to the second page and paste from the clipboard. Confirm that "Paste as Image" and "Paste as Contents" are displayed in the clipboard's paste options. Confirm that the size of the pasted image is the same as the original size.
Next, paste a 400 dpi content image.
- [00:44]-[00:47] Create a new document with size:A2, orientation:landscape, count:2.
- [00:50]-[00:59] Add a 400 dpi PNG file as image content.
- [01:02]-[01:16] Edit mode is enabled and the image is cut to the clipboard, but after waiting for a while, the image does not disappear.
- [01:17]-[01:31] Go to the second page and paste from the clipboard. Confirm that only "Paste as Image" appears in the clipboard paste options. Confirm that the size of the pasted image is different from the original size, especially that the aspect ratio has changed.
The areas where the behavior differs between 300 dpi and 400 dpi are shown in bold. Compare the bolded areas with the same color. At 300 dpi it works perfectly as intended, but at 400 dpi it does not.
Note that the page size and orientation of the new document were chosen to make it easier to see the difference when pasting, and have nothing to do with the conditions under which the issue occurs. In addition, the following two settings in the Clipboard in the System category of the Settings app in Windows 10 are both off.
- Clipboard history
- Sync across devices
Thank you so much for your continued support.
