Stamp with editable fields?

Post by mrpunch000 »

Hi everyone,
Accounts Payable stamp.pdf
(18.72 KiB) Downloaded 30 times
I work at an architecture firm and they developed a stamp to put on documents to track if things were approved, rejected, charged back to the client, etc. To this point they have had to place the stamp and then add in text boxes on top of that stamp to "check off" each line. I was asked to find out, is it possible to have a stamp that has fields that can be edited?

I read some about dynamic stamps and so I know stamps are capable of doing more than just placing an image on a page but I'm unsure if an "editable stamp" is even possible or would require knowledge of javascript.

Thank you SO MUCH for your insight & feedback

Hello, mrpunch000

It is not possible for a stamp to place editable objects like form fields on the page alongside it, but if you make liberal use of JavaScript, you can create a dynamic stamp which will prompt for these items before placement, and reflect the chosen options in the final static version of the stamp.
This article (and the others it references) may help:

Thank you Daniel,
I have zero experience with Java so I'm out of luck on that front. I appreciate your response though!

You know, you could append PDFs with that "stamp" you sent, it's a valid form, and if appended to a document could be modified after the fact.

I know it's not what you were asking for, but I thought I'd throw that out there anyway.
Best regards
