Insert file / combine

Is there a way to insert multiple PDF documents (combine) , it seems like you can only do one at a time.

A reason I would rather want to use PDF-xchange rather than some merging software would be to keep the bookmarks, because it seems like only PDF-xce is able to do that.

The "insert" function can only do one document at a time, but you can instead use the "File > New document > Combine files" function to handle multiple at once.

...or simply drag PDF files into the bookmarks pane to the place where you want them to end up in your assembled portfolio

That is still one at a time, unless you drag them in bulk and are okay not being 100% certain of the order they will be inserted, but yes, that would work as well.
