Javascript - to Execute an External App

Post by tryingto-remember »

Hi,

If I created my own add-on using JavaScript for PDF-X Change Editor, do the permissions / configurations of PDF X's support for such add-ons make it possible for me to execute an external app?

Specifically, here's my idea - I select some text in a document, activate the JavaScript / start the add-on. It passes the selected text to the external app? But, my more general question is, does the current add-on protocol for PDF-X allow for activating an external application?

Thank you! :D
Thanks!

Hello, tryingto-remember

I am afraid that JS cannot be used to execute an external app. You will need to manually copy the content, and carry it over to the other software yourself.
