We have been testing the PDF-Tools feature "Export PDF to Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet" with a view to using it in a research project.
On version 9.0 of PDF-Tools (build 352.0) the feature worked beautifully and recognized even merged cells, with better results than any other tool we have tested. Now our company is upgrading to version 9.2 of PDF-tools (build 358.0) and the results of the feature on the same test PDF are very bad: many table rows had all their data as a long text string in the leftmost column of the resulting Excel file.
What could be the cause of such a problem? If needed, I can provide a test PDF and the resulting Excel file from both PDF-Tools versions privately.
Regression in the "Export to Excel" feature

Re: Regression in the "Export to Excel" feature
Hello h.rummukainen,
This specific conversion is an active area of changes, as we try to improve it. It could be that with your samples, the changes we've made are actually making the results worse!
Please do share a sample with us (if the data is sensitive - please e-mail the files to support@pdf-xchange.com), and we will be happy to take a look!
Kind regards,
Stefan
