Lower UI is lost
Hello,
I'm using PDF-XChange Editor free version 8.0 build 343.0. I lost my "lower UI" (lower user interface). How can I reactivate it?
Attachment is the manual. The page shows the lower UI. But I have no lower UI, see also attachment.
Best regards

Hi,
Make sure to open at least one document in PDF-XChange Editor.
Then, right-mouse-click in the blank space (at the right) of whatever ribbon.
The toolbar-selection-pane will show up.
Most probably you will see that all your "Document Toolbars" are turned OFF in the current situation.
Turn ON the toolbars that you need or prefer, and then click outside the toolbar-selection-pane.
Best regards.

Hello,
the problem "Lower UI is lost" repeated, but the solution will not work anymore. All document toolbars are turned on, but I can't see the lower UI. PDF-XChange Editor 9.0 build 352.0 is used.
Best regards

Re: Lower UI is lost
I see that the problem is different now. The toolbars are active but not visible at this moment.
The PDF-XChange Editor window is higher than the screen height and so the lower part of the window is not visible (hidden).
Two ways to see the Lower UI:
- maximize the window so that it takes the dimensions of your screen
- first resize the window by dragging the upper border downwards and then dragging the window itself upwards, so that you see the Lower UI back again
I suppose you are working with two or more displays/screens with different dimensions and/or resolutions, or you have changed the window height per abuse.
Best regards.

Re: Lower UI is lost
Hello Willy,
yes, I'm using 2 screens with different resolutions (laptop and external monitor).
Unfortunately, your solution didn't work, but I found an other way:
- UI options
- Customize Toolbars
- Toolbars
- Reset all
Best regards

Re: Lower UI is lost
Hello akapuma,
Yes resetting the toolbars should help, thought it's not the ideal solution if you have extensively customized them!
So I would recommend you to save a copy of your settings in an external file - so that you can quickly reload them in the future if needed.
And if your two screens are with different DPI please try the File -> Preferences (Ctrl + K) -> General -> UI Scaling -> Drop down with 3 options to be set to "System Scale" so that your Editor windows can appear with consistent size on the different DPI screens.
Kind regards,
Stefan
