Post by kumar »

Hi,
How can I set an expiry date on a PDF so that after that date the PDF cannot be opened. Thanks.

Hi, kumar

Unfortunately this is not currently allowed in PDF according to the PDF specification, so it will not be possible to do this.

Kind regards,

can you include in next release? This would be a good security feature.

Hi, kumar

As I mentioned above, this is not allowed by the PDF specification. We cannot implement features which go against the Specification as it would break conformance and result in documents that are not universally compatible (which defeats the purpose of the "P" in PDF [Portable document format]).

Until the ISO Specification for PDF changes to allow a function like this, we will not be implementing this function.
