Word to pdf conversion - hyperlinks

Post by zarkogajic »

Hi Support,

Using version 335.

When Word 2 PDF conversion happens (opening a DOC[X] file) the text looking like URL is converted to an URI link. Can this be disabled?

Further, any Word style hyperlink will also be converted to URI action link annotations. This works for target documents in the same folder and in any subfolder (related to the originating document).

There seems to be a bug: for hyperlinks that go to parent folder location - they will not be converted/created.

So, having a word document converted to PDF using Adobe (from Word), opening in PDFX:

Same Word document loaded in PDFX (auto conversion):

Hyperlink is missing (should point to a file in parent folder)

Ofc, the same behavior in EU Editor.

Hello žarko,

Thanks. Will forward this to our testers for investigation.
Also, we have automatic link recognition - maybe you have it turned on?

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

That's an actual link annotation created.

Hello žarko,

We could not recreate this behavior with the latest release. Can you please tell what Word version are you using?

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Here's how it looks on the file system - the "word-doc-src.docx" is the document with links to other files in parent, same and subfolder:

In Word:

Open in EU Editor - "doc in parent folder" link is missing:
