Highlighting multiple lines
Please note that PDF Xchange sometimes highlights multiple lines instead of one, please fix this issue as it happens many times in textbooks.

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Hello,
Could you please tell us what version is your PDF Editor?
You can see that under the Main menu -> Help -> About.
Also, is it possible to send us an example file with which you have this problem?
Regards.

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Hello @all,
Only as additional information, this issue could be related to the fact that (probably due to the equations), PDF-XChange Editor thinks that the first text paragraph on the page upladed by Humam contains several separate paragraphs.
This can be seen, for example, when the first paragraph is selected, context-menu-copied as Rich Text and then pasted into Word. In addition, these paragraphs seem to have an extremely large line spacing, as can also be seen in Word.:
Hth and best regards
David

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Also as additional information:
When you isolate one of the paragraphs with a formula, you will see that for some specific characters the PearsonMATHxx font has been used. When you change this 'font' for these characters into for example 'Arial', then the line spacing jumps to normal (single line).
To me, it seems like there is a faulty interpretation of the PearsonMATH font.
Regards.

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Hello David & Willy,
Indeed the issue has to do with the font height. When highlighting we should currently base it on the size of characters in the line, so having multiple different sized fonts in a line would lead to results like this. Although there is certainly an issue in how we interpret the size of these font items. These details are in the ticket now, so that the Dev team can work with the examples and see what can be done.
I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Hello Humam2104,
There are no new updates on the ticket since it was last checked just before the holidays a little over two weeks ago. I cannot say when this will be resolved, but it is more complex than it appears at a glance, and will likely not be a quick fix.

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
I would like to point out that there's some new updates for me regarding this issue, it seems that the problem isn't with the highlighting itself, the problem is with selecting text too. Please check the GIF image or the recorded video
Using PDFXChange Editor Pro
Using Foxit PDF Reader
Using Adobe Reader
Using Opera
Using Chrome
It's clear that other pdf softwares don't suffer from this problem while only PDFXChange does.

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Hello humam2104,
That is another issue which we are aware of and working on actively, it has to do with how content items are ordered on a page, currently we handle content items for multiple selection in the order which it "exists" according to the document, instead of how it "appears" in the document. In the future, we will be making a change to allow selection and the like to be based on the visual order, instead of the actual order of content items. As with the other issue in this thread this is a complex item to address, and no set timeline is available for it.
Kind regards,

Hi, humam2104
Unfortunately I do not have any news for you as of yet. As for the files you are creating, does the same issue happen when you do all of the following, or is it exclusive certain ones? If so, which?
1. Print to our PDF-XChange Standard printer
2. Use our Convert function from the PDF-XChange Tab inside of Microsoft word
3. Print to the MS print to PDF printer
4. Use Words built in "File > export > create PDF" function
Kind regards,

Re: Highlighting multiple lines
Hi, humam2104
I see, Could you please try the other methods that I mentioned as well, and tell me if the file generated from those scenarios has the same issue (specifically the ones where our products are actually used)? As with the steps you are currently taking Word is actually generating the PDF file, not us, so we have no control of that process whatsoever and can only read what already exists in the document after it has been saved.
