Hello seniorandre,

When you use the Number Pages tool, you change the numbers that appear under the thumbnails for each page in the Thumbnails Pane. However, in order to be able to see the changes you made with this tool, you need to enable the "Use logical page numbers" option located in File -> Preferences -> Page Display.

If you would like to add numbers to your document's pages, please use the Bates Numbering tool or the Header and Footer tool.
You can read more about these tools in our online manual:
Header and Footer
Bates Numbering

Please note that both of these tools are a part of our Licensed features. If they are used without a valid license, the Editor will place "Buy now" stamps on top of each page of your final document.

Regards,
Radi
