Hi,
I use to add links to pdf files so that to open other documents on my computer.
I recently experienced issue (my fault) after moving "target" documents from one place (folder)
to another.
After doing this, links in source documents don't works anymore.
When using the Link tool and trying to modify the source link, I got an alert stating
that target is unavailable:
and the "target document" field in empty (page number is
still as previously defined):
Is there a way to force GUI to display original link so that to directly edit it instead of
reselecting the file?
In my case, I just dropped target docs from a child to parent folder dans therefore is
would be nice being able to just suppress the old \foldername\ .
Is that possible? (even using java console)
Could is be an enhancement?
Thanks
Bernard

Re: Direct Link editing?
Hello Bernard,
Unfortunately at the moment, while it may be possible using JavaScript, it is not possible to do this through the UI. I do not have a prepared JS sample ready for this function (and personally lack the expertise to build the function from the ground up), however if you have experience in that field, you should be able to find the necessary methods here: https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/ ... erence.pdf
Kind regards,

Re: Direct Link editing?
Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I see that a lot of time will be required.
What about an idea keeping "old link" visible in corresponding field so that to allow
direct editing? (this would be an enhancement, at least for my point of view.
Any chance at your side forwarding to dev team?
Best regards

Re: Direct Link editing?
Hello Bernard,
We do have a feature request present for direct link editing, however it has been "stalled" for some time. I have brought it back up and we are discussing if it would be viable to make a change allowing direct editing (so far it seems unlikely, as the preview of the document relies on using the file browser). On the other hand, we do intend to make that field show the previous document path, even when the document is no longer present, so that you can at least copy it to be pasted in the browse window for quicker editing.

Re: Direct Link editing?
Hi,
Thanks,
The second possibility would be nice and enough for me.
Enabling mass change would be great. Regarding this it come to mind that whenever a target link is
discovered missing the program do automaticaly apply manual fix (new path) to all other links
with missing target.
Make sense?
Regards
Bernard

Re: Direct Link editing?
Hello Bernard,
I am glad that at least one of our options will be helpful for you!
Unfortunately, Mass link editing will not be possible with the Editor's current functionality. I will mention the idea, but I cannot make any promises for implementation at this time.
