what would be the best way to make a document anonymous? (deletion of all metadata etc.)

Hello Daniel,

Unfortunately we do not offer a function to remove all existing metadata in a document. You can edit some of ti from the Document properties window (Ctrl+D), however anything you cannot change here, you would need to find another utility to modify. Note that some changes to document Metadata can e damaging to a document, and could result in corruption or data loss. Beyond that, any document metadata changes should be recognized as "modifications" as far as signatures are concerned, so making these changes after signing may invalidate some signatures.

Thanks for the answer. Adjusting the metadata via the dialog would be one thing, I would have thought you could possibly set fields like creator, creation date, which are e.g. stored in the XMP stream to default values or so that simply default values are everywhere and so you don't break the PDF. Then I look around in the net.
