Lite 8: GDI versus XPS - same result?

Post by Peter2 »

I tried the same print with "GDI" and "XPS" - and got the same results in

- PDF-Props / Producer: PDF-XChange Lite (8.0 build 331) [GDI] [Windows 10 Professional x64 (Build 17763)]
- File size
- File compare (99%)

Is this correct?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the post - There are so many variables at play that it's impossible to give a definite and universal answer. Sometimes the two engines will give identical results (in an ideal world) and at other times there will be slight differences as the two engines handle certain data differently.

Cheers,

Thanks Will

but also the string in PDF-metadata "Producer" is the same "[GDI]" for XPS settings?

My apologies Peter, I didn't catch that. I'll pass that along!

Hi Peter,

We've been trying to reproduce this here but can't. Can you advise on what application you're printing from and whether you are manually setting the print engine to XPS, or if you're using the Auto mode?

Thanks,

Re: Lite 8: GDI versus XPS - same result?  SOLVED

Hi Will

thanks for investigation.

I'm sorry - I just found at that it happened with that strange software where I reported problems with overlaying layers before. It uses a rather old "print command" where nobody knows what really happens.

I just tested with Firefox and Autocad - and both results are OK.

So this topic can be closed.
