I would like to see x/y/width/height values in the property dialog which could be changed as well.
This would improve some work, like aligning multiple images or resizing the surrounding frame of a text paragraph to get space for adding some characters to an existing text (using the mouse results in a kind of 'distorted' font width/height).

Re: Feature Request - set object position & dimensions
Today I needed to draw 7 tiles with a size of 30x120cm each side by side to get a total size of 210cm x 120cm. I did this using a paper scaled 1:50, so the real dimension of a tile is 6x24mm.
After drawing a rectangle I changed the size using the "Transform selection" (I would really love to have a keyboard shortcut to toggle the state of the aspect ratio lock) and made 6 copies of the object. After all, the occupied area was to small, so I started measuring a tile which was only 28x118cm instead of 30x120cm. Changing the border does not change the size, but has effect for the "Transform selection" function. I think, this behaviour is not absolutely perfect.
To scale an object to the correct size, it is needed to reduce the border line width to 0 before using "Transform selection" and to restore the line width after that.
