How do we control Disabled Text Color in Menus

Post by RMan »

It appears that you are using a formula based on the text color and windows color when it comes to the disabled text color in menus and such. The problem is if you use certain colors and especially light or white colored text. Is there a way to programatically change it or can we change it in the theme in the Resources.dat file? I tried in the Resources.dat file but couldn't figure out how to do it.

Here's how light gray window and white text looks. As you can see the disabled text is basically gone.

And here's the settings file.

Hello RMan,

I've redirected this question to the appropriate developer - hopefully he will take a look at this soon.

Cheers,
Alex

Any news on this yet and will there be a way in the next release to get and set the value for inactive (disabled) text?

Hello RMan,

This was fixed and should be included in the next release that should be held in a week or so.

Cheers,
Alex

I figured I would add this to the same thread since it's along the same bug.

The Editor is calculating the highlighting wrong in the dialog box textboxes and such. In the Editor Window itself it works properly for text highlighting.

If you compare to how Windows and programs normally handle text highlighting it seams like normally the highlight is placed behind the text. In the Editor it goes in front in the dialog box fields so you can't read the text at times.

I've attached an image of how various programs display white text with a gray backgound and blue highlight.

Also it appears the highlighting on your drop down listboxes are correct.

Hello RMan,

I've forwarded this to our testers - we'll investigate this behavior.

Alex
