Compression Issue

Post by jeffp »

We distribute your Lite driver with our package.

I have a customer printing a tax return from his tax program using the Lite driver we distributed with our program. He is claiming that the file size is huge compare to when he uses the Adobe PDF print OR your Standard Printer.

Are there different compression options available in your Std Driver versus the Lite Driver what we distribute that would account for the larger files sizes using the Lite driver?

Hi guys,

I've passed this on to one of our Canadian devs. to see if he can help, but it may require the attention of our lead developer who's currently on holiday. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

It's been a while so just checking in to see if the log file I sent told you anything and if you have a fix for this?

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Roman started looking at this - but the sample you provided earlier seems to be missing now!
Can you please attach that anew?

Cheers,
Stefan

As I see, the application that prints that document provides almost all text for first five pages as curves, not as actual text.
That explains why the file is so big (1.09 MB on my side).

Why it prints text in this way, I cannot explain, that question should be addressed to the developers of this app.

Our Lite driver is an XPS-based printer, while Standard - GDI-based. Maybe that explains the difference.
