Word 2013 PDF-XChange Editor v6 - B317 Add-In won't activate
We have 1 user in a 500+ environment who's word add-in won't activate. Every time word is open they have to go into the plugin options and select pdf xchange for it to activate.
Uninstalling - re-installing doesn't seem to work.
In the past when this issue has arisen the techs have either moved them to adobe standard OR re-imaged their machine.
Can you please advise if you've come across this issue before, why this might be happening and what we could look at to resolve.

Re: Word 2013 PDF-XChange Editor v6 - B317 Add-In won't acti
Just two advises from my side:
1) Check the "LoadBehavior" of the PDF-XChange add-in via Windows Registry Editor
The dword value of it should be "00000003", not "00000002"):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\AddIns\PXCOfficeAddin6.Addin]
"FriendlyName"="PDF-XChange Standard V6 Office COM Plugin"
"Description"="PDF-XChange Standard V6 Office COM Plugin"
"LoadBehavior"=dword:00000003
"CommandLineSafe"=dword:00000000
2) In Word, via File > Options > Add-ins, de-activate the other add-ins and then check if the PDF-XChange add-in behaves normal (after you have restarted Word).
Sometimes particular other add-ins prevent the PDF-XChange add-in from working correctly.
Best regards.

Hi team,
the registry settings are the same as you've described:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\AddIns\PXCOfficeAddin6.Addin]
"CommandLineSafe"=dword:00000000
"Description"="PDF-XChange Standard V6 Office COM Plugin"
"FriendlyName"="PDF-XChange Standard V6 Office COM Plugin"
"LoadBehavior"=dword:00000003
Which are the same accross our whole environment.

OK, and what about other add-ins
Re: Word 2013 PDF-XChange Editor v6 - B317 Add-In won't acti
Currently unable to turn off one of the add-ins - HP Records Manager (used to be TRIM).
We run this across all our users but this is pushed out via policy.
I'll figure out an easy way to turn that off for her and I'll get back to you.
cheers

Still a few things:
1) In the thread below, the PDF-XChange add-in was in the list of the "Disabled items". Is this the case at your side?
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... 70&p=99893
2) Did you already try if a "Repair" of the Microsoft Office installation resolves the problem?
3) Sometimes it helps to "Remove" the add-in via the "COM Add-ins" dialog box in Word (File > Options > Add-ins > Go...), where the different add-ins are listed. You have to take note of the path and the name of the add-in, so you can add it back to the list via the Add... button. It is not a very clean method, but I have the impression that the concerning *.dll is registered somehow in an other way then it is usual.
