Hi there,
is there any way that multiple users signing the same PDF at the same time using the self-created PKCS#12-certificate?
If the document is on our internal file server one can not save the pdf after signing when another user has the file open. We also tried via sharepoint, but this does not work either.
If not, is there a way to show the user when the pdf is opened by another user (like e.g. Word does).
I'm looking forward to your help!
Best regards

Re: Have pdf signed by multiple users at the same time
Hi mk795,
According to the PDF specifications, the file needs to be saved on signing, so you will need to make that possible, only one "person" will be able to sign at a time. SharePoint offers Check Out and Check in option specifically because of the issues that come from multiple people trying to modify the same document concurrently.
Signing a PDF does present a particular challenge in this area. This is why the typical way multiple signatures are handled is to create a signature field for each and every location on the document that will eventually be signed, and these must be created before the first signature is placed. As soon as that first signature is placed the document will be locked in such a way that additional signature fields may not be added, existing signature fields may however be signed. Each subsequent signature needs access to the previous signed version.

We do have plans for such a feature, though it has not enjoyed a high priority in the past, I can add a vote/comment for you on the ticket. I am not sure when this is planned to be delivered, but you can ask support to check by referring to RT#3063: FR: Inform user that network file is already in useIf not, is there a way to show the user when the pdf is opened by another user (like e.g. Word does).
